Rocket Preps Fans For Super Bowl With Previews Of Homes They Could Win, Teaser Of Big Ad

By KIMBERLEY HAAS

With the big football game coming up this weekend, leaders at Rocket are inviting people to take a peek at the homes they could buy if they win the world’s largest official game of Super Bowl Squares and have revealed which stars will appear in their ad.

Rocket Mortgage will give two grand prize winners $500,000 each for a home purchase during the game. $50,000 will be awarded every time the score changes.

Rocket Homes, their sister company, has published an article highlighting what type of home a potential winner could select in various parts of the country.

According to the article, the median sale price of a house in America is $335,212. The average house has three bedrooms, two bathrooms and is 1,762 square feet.

That means that for $500,000 winners of Rocket Mortgage Super Bowl Squares could move to a warmer climate or to a bigger city.

The article features a ranch with a shady backyard in sunny Tampa, Florida, a home with a backyard pool in Phoenix, Arizona, and a sun-bathed condo with a private backyard in Los Angeles, California.

Rocket Mortgage and Rocket Homes are also getting people geared up for the game with Super Bowl ad teasers.

It was announced on Monday that actress Anna Kendrick and the doll Barbie will be starring in the Super Bowl ad for Rocket Mortgage and Rocket Homes. They released a teaser on YouTube.

Kendrick posted on Twitter Wednesday that she and Barbie had a staring contest that Rocket Mortgage and Rocket Homes set up.

On Barbie’s Twitter page, an interview with the doll was posted. She revealed that she has never been in a Super Bowl commercial before.

Lisa McKnight, Senior Vice President and Global Head of the Barbie & Dolls Portfolio for Mattel, said in a statement that they can’t wait to reveal the full spot for fans on Sunday.

“With Anna Kendrick as a co-star, the concept is a perfect fit to mark yet another monumental moment in Barbie’s history as a cultural icon with her first appearance in the big game,” McKnight said.

It is also the first time Kendrick has appeared in a Super Bowl ad.

“I’m so excited to be making my first-ever Super Bowl appearance with Rocket Homes and Rocket Mortgage! They are known for their award-winning creative spots and having a chance to work alongside Barbie – a childhood favorite – was a dream come true!” Kendrick said in a statement.

This is Rocket Mortgage’s fifth Super Bowl ad, according to Casey Hurbis. He is the Chief Marketing Officer of Rocket Mortgage and Rocket Homes.

“This year’s commercial is exciting because it’s filled with firsts – Anna and Barbie’s first time in the game and Rocket Mortgage sister company, Rocket Homes, inaugural feature in the Super Bowl. Our team at Rocket, together with all of our partners, worked hard on this commercial and we can’t wait for you to see it,” Hurbis said in a statement.

Highdive Advertising in Chicago produced the commercial.

The Super Bowl on Sunday will feature a match-up between the Los Angeles Rams and the Cincinnati Bengals at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

Kickoff time is 6:30 p.m.

The game will be broadcast on NBC and Telemundo. It will be streamed on Peacock.

Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blidge, and Kendrick Lamar are scheduled to perform at the Pepsi Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show.

The five musicians have collectively been awarded 43 Grammys, according to NBC News.

Tickets for the game start at $3,900 each on Ticketmaster.
