Katie Sweeney Joins Rocket Pro As EVP Of Strategy And Broker Advocacy

Former AIME CEO Katie Sweeney joined Rocket Pro as executive vice president of strategy and broker advocacy.
“The mortgage industry is changing rapidly, and I’m passionate about empowering brokers to use these opportunities to be stronger than ever. I’ll be hitting the ground running – meeting one-on-one with our partners, diving deep into go to market strategy, working to democratize technology, and finding new and innovative ways to support this incredible community,” Sweeney wrote in a LinkedIn post.
Sweeney says she will continue advocating on behalf of mortgage brokers in Washington, D.C.
“Rocket’s mission is clear: help everyone home, and do it in a way that builds trust, creates opportunity and makes a real difference. I love that Daniel Sogorka has said, with Rocket Pro and the broker community together, he is building ‘America’s Most Trusted Homeownership Team.’ I can’t wait to get started working with Dan, Mike Fawaz, Cory Scholl, and the entire team to see what we can achieve together,” she wrote.
Sweeney started working as chairman and CEO of the Association of Independent Mortgage Experts (AIME) in January of 2021.
She stepped down last year to helm the Broker Action Coalition, which she helped found in 2022 as AIME’s legislative advocacy arm.
AIME was closely aligned with Rocket competitor United Wholesale Mortgage. At one point Sweeney shared a stage with disgraced AIME exec Anthony Casa, who left the organization after coming under fire for lewd and misogynistic video texts.
Sweeney told National Mortgage Professional in an interview that her previous perceptions of Rocket were wrong, and that further information proved that she shares ideals and legislative goals with the company.
“I was really impressed by their ethical and moral compass that’s a core component of the culture here [at Rocket],” Sweeney said.
“Being able to see that people really live by doing the right thing and, in earnest, want to build something incredible for their broker partners — that’s all I’ve ever wanted to do. And I think the rest of it is noise that’s not necessary. It distracts us all from our primary objective.”
