Former MLB Pitcher Bart Evans Named loanDepot Regional VP

loanDepot named former MLB relief pitcher Bart Evans as its new regional VP for the Southeast.

Evans brings more than two decades of experience to the position, previously holding leadership roles at Summit Funding and Movement Mortgage.

Before joining the industry, he spent eight years pitching for the Kansas City Royals starting in 1992.

He will oversee the Southeast region, including Alabama, Arkansas, and Tennessee. He reports to SVP of Production Paul Ramos.

“As a former professional baseball player, Bart knows the value of hard work, competitiveness, and collaboration. He starts every day as if he’s heading to a championship game and we’re excited to see his talents in action on our winning team,” said loanDepot EVP John Bianchi.

“With Alabama, Arkansas, and Tennessee experiencing accelerated population growth over the past decade, loanDepot is well-positioned to meet the needs of families in these core markets—and Bart’s leadership, growth mindset, and dedication to his community make him the perfect fit to take our business to the next level.”

loanDepot says it is primed for unique opportunities in Alabama, Arkansas, and Tennessee, where population growth has created the perfect environment for homebuilding and new home lending.

“Individuals and families in these markets deserve proper community-focused lending, and Evans’ leadership is well-suited to deliver the localized support they need. He’s a highly experienced leader who will make an important impact,” said LDI Mortgage President Jeff Walsh.

Launched in 2010, California-based loanDepot prioritizes a “digital-first” approach to lending. It is one of the largest non-bank lenders in the U.S. and operates hundreds of offices across the nation.

It recently named a president for its joint venture with Georgia-based Smith Douglas Homes, the 36th largest new home builder in the U.S.
